To provide support and financial assistance for wounded soldiers and veterans, OceanView Night-Vision is sponsoring Saltwater Soldiers. Part of the nonprofit's mission is to take soldiers on free offshore fishing trips to live out their dreams of catching the fish of a lifetime. OceanView has donated an Apollo II LL night-vision camera to enhance the safety and enjoyment of the adventure.
"The low-light camera knocks out much of the danger of night fishing and cruising," said Michael Branson, who founded Saltwater Soldiers in 2009. "We're able to maintain a decent speed and see farther to avoid crab pots, planks and other obstacles."
Operating out of Ocean City, Maryland, Saltwater Soldiers provides financial assistance to improve the quality of life for returning and wounded soldiers. Through individual and corporate donations, the organization helps make homes handicapped accessible, facilitates counseling for vets and families and assists with living expenses.
"The fishing is a means to an end—our 60' Ocean Yachts Super Sport attracts a lot of attention at tournaments and gets the word out about our other services," said Branson. "Going out to sea also serves another important function. Deep-sea fishing is similar to military duty in that soldiers hurry up and wait for something to happen. In our case we're

waiting for something good, like landing a winning tuna or marlin. In the meantime, the vets open up and deal with their combat experiences in a safe, comfortable environment.
"Some of these soldiers have served up to five tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. They yearn for a social environment where they can share their experiences with their peers and non-military people."
The Apollo II LL is a 0.00015 lux low-light camera that amplifies any available light to transmit crisp, detailed images. Its 25mm lens offers a 15° field of view. Pan, tilt enable users to effectively view their surroundings, including complete 360° continuous pans. The
9" W x 8" H x 9" D camera comes in an IP67 rated housing and can be controlled from up to 6 stations onboard. OceanView's wide range of night- vision products includes single and combination thermal, low-light and color models, plus integration with on-screen controllers or Furuno's NavNet 3D system.
